Trusting God When Fortitude Fails You

Finding Peace in the Presence of God

Falling For Jesus

I am a cool weather person. I have been my whole life. I do enjoy a beautiful sunny day; I just enjoy it more when it’s around 50 degrees or less. Autumn is the launch party celebrating that cooler temperatures are just around the corner. It ushers in family gatherings, football, cute sweaters, pumpkin decorating, and candy corn mixed with peanuts.

There is a special kind of elation that comes from a crisp autumn morning against a backdrop of beautiful color-changing leaves. The leaves turning to red, orange and yellow symbolize the changing season and a new beginning. Our Heavenly Father who gives us seasons is the author of new beginnings.

As the leaves fall one on top of another I can imagine grace, beautiful grace. God’s abundant grace.

“Out of His fullness, we have all received grace on top of grace.” John 1:16 TLV

The grace and mercy of God piles like the autumn leaves but unlike the changing seasons, God never changes. Our gift of grace in Jesus never changes. It does not matter how bad your last or current season looks. It can be hot, sticky and stormy. Your season does not determine your level of grace.

Spend some time with Jesus in this season and fall in love all over again.

When the leaves do start piling up let it be a reminder that God’s grace is unlimited and beautiful.

About Me

I love God who loves me. I am a wife and mother. I have spent most of my life keeping God at a distance. Of course He was always right here with me. In a world where we may feel we can never measure up, God tells us “we are fearfully and wonderfully made”. I had so much guilt and shame that I developed from a childhood experience. Because of my guilt and shame I often felt unworthy and sinful. I often tried to do the “ right thing”, but I found it easier to just accept who I thought I was and would always be. Giving my life to Jesus gave me freedom but I held on to my old beliefs far too long. I hope to encourage others to seek God in all things and trust in Him and not the world.
