Trusting God When Fortitude Fails You

Finding Peace in the Presence of God

FIND YOUR WAY

I am a person who is directionally challenged. I have maps on my phone and navigation in my car and yet, I have found myself driving the wrong direction. I have missed an exit and driven 30 miles to find a different exit, just to turn around and go the right way. I try to make myself aware of landmarks but landmarks change. It can be both frustrating and frightening to be lost. There is nothing more frustrating and frightening than living life lost. People are looking for their way in this world. The world is not the way.

Jesus is the way. The way-when we are lost. The way-when we are broken. The way-when we are afraid. The way-when we feel unworthy. The way-when we are lacking. The way-when we have taken the wrong exit.

Before Jesus would give His life for us, His disciple Thomas asked Him where He was going and how would he know the way to get there?

“Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
‭‭John‬ ‭14‬:‭5‬-‭6‬ ‭ESV‬‬

If we can just find our way to Jesus; He will lead us where we need to go. We can find ourselves in the wrong place, at the wrong time, going the wrong direction. We may be going the right way and with one slight curve find ourselves in an unfamiliar place. We don’t have to stay there, we just need the right guidance.

Our Savior Jesus is the Way for our eternal life and life here on earth. If you are lost just call on Jesus. He is always the Way.

About Me

I love God who loves me. I am a wife and mother. I have spent most of my life keeping God at a distance. Of course He was always right here with me. In a world where we may feel we can never measure up, God tells us “we are fearfully and wonderfully made”. I had so much guilt and shame that I developed from a childhood experience. Because of my guilt and shame I often felt unworthy and sinful. I often tried to do the “ right thing”, but I found it easier to just accept who I thought I was and would always be. Giving my life to Jesus gave me freedom but I held on to my old beliefs far too long. I hope to encourage others to seek God in all things and trust in Him and not the world.
