Trusting God When Fortitude Fails You

Finding Peace in the Presence of God

Table For Two Please!

“You prepare a table for me, even as my enemies watch; you anoint my head with oil from an overflowing cup.” Psalm 23:5 CJB

In the Bible a table represents God’s presence. David is exalting God for His presence, His provision, and His protection. We can imagine ourselves at a grand table in a beautiful setting with our Father hosting.

Our Heavenly Father is watching over us. He is our constant protection from our enemies. He does not hide that fact. God doesn’t covertly guard us. He puts the table right out in the open so our enemy has no doubt who is defending us.

Our Heavenly Father anoints us with oil. He sets us apart and sanctifies us. He heals us. He welcomes us to His table.

Our Heavenly Father pours out with an overflowing cup. He gives us all we need, and then He gives us more. Jesus is a perfect symbol of this overflowing cup. In Jesus we have all we need and even more than we need.

If you want to spend time with someone who knows you better than you know yourself and someone who adores you and only wants the best for you; your Host is waiting.

Grab a table for two and just immerse yourself in God’s holy presence. Just BE in His presence. Accept His overflowing cup who is Jesus. And guess what? God has already picked up the check!

About Me

I love God who loves me. I am a wife and mother. I have spent most of my life keeping God at a distance. Of course He was always right here with me. In a world where we may feel we can never measure up, God tells us “we are fearfully and wonderfully made”. I had so much guilt and shame that I developed from a childhood experience. Because of my guilt and shame I often felt unworthy and sinful. I often tried to do the “ right thing”, but I found it easier to just accept who I thought I was and would always be. Giving my life to Jesus gave me freedom but I held on to my old beliefs far too long. I hope to encourage others to seek God in all things and trust in Him and not the world.
