Watching the scenes coming out of Israel this past week has been both shocking and heartbreaking. I’ve watched horrifying videos and heard gut wrenching stories from families with missing loved ones. As I cried and prayed for them I believed everyone must be feeling Israel’s pain. Unfortunately along with the atrocities brought against Israel was the news of some making excuses for these acts of terrorism.
I do not have a naive belief that the rest of the world thinks like me, but I was sickened to see theses protesters, many of them young adults, siding with terrorists. I was first sickened-then angry-then I prayed. I prayed and was reminded Jesus is the Savior of the World. The entire world.
I began to pray for their misconstrued thinking. I prayed selfishly as many of them are my children’s peers, and I hope they don’t end up on the same job some day. I prayed anxiously as some may be running the world while taking future generations down this vitriolic path. I prayed they will see that God has warned us against this depraved way of thinking.

I prayed and remembered there was a time when I too walked in darkness.
“For at one time, we too were foolish and disobedient, deceived and enslaved by a variety of passions and pleasures. We spent our lives in evil and envy; people hated us, and we hated each other.”

I prayed for the world. I prayed for clarity for those who are believing the lies of the devil. I prayed in love because this is what our Heavenly Father expects of us.
“Beloved friends, let us love one another; because love is from God; and everyone who loves has God as his Father and knows God.”
